    I’ve got so so SO many limbs that I need cut. I was told thousands. 3 that need to be laid down but many that just need trimming. I wish I could manage the trims and just pay for the full cuts. Sigh.

    You can minimize damage by making several cuts along the branch to make many smaller logs.

    ❤😂🎉. Lots of manual labor but it worked and saved you $280 or so. I'm going to try it. I have an extra chain saw blade and rope. Now I just wait for cooler temperatures in October maybe jan or Feb when the tree goes bare. Until then go to the gym to build up strength and stamina. I've had the two trees trimmed 3 times and they have not done what I asked them to do.

  • @Education-yk5ug
    @Education-yk5ug 21 день тому

    1. poor sound quality, should've used a closer microphone. 2. you have to make sure the chain saw teeth are positioned properly, and that's not easy. 3. throwing a hammer over a high branch is not easy. So you could try but with a limited success. Not to mention, IO wonder how long it took you to saw through such a thick branch

    How from 20' away, do you rotate or even see the teeth on the blade, and if the teeth are the furthest side from the center, how do you rock the blade, from a low corner to the high part of the tooth? Seriously, this looks like it would wear you out before you cut halfway thru, and that the branch weight should have started snapping downward, before you cut this far, and would not have come straight down, but would have swung back toward the tree and you, before hitting the ground. Looks good if it will work, but something still feels wrong.

  • @jasont7814
    @jasont7814 24 дні тому

    Never would’ve thought of that, thank you.

  • @brendan2599
    @brendan2599 24 дні тому

    It's even better with two people because you can spread apart, which means you concentrate the cutting on the top, which makes it less likely that the tree will pinch and bind the chain as it starts to sag and drop. If you have the handles close together you cut the top and the sides. As the branch starts to sag the cut low down on the sides will pinch the chain. It sucks having your chain stuck 30 feet up in a tree with a dangerously partially cut branch.

  • @akgstone
    @akgstone 24 дні тому

    Not cool to not show the real time lapse. The actuality is that you must do this for at least 20 minutes with a branch as thick as he was removing. Thatd be nice to include in the description. Its better to hire a pro if youre not strong enough

    • @akgstone
      @akgstone 24 дні тому

      @NoIAmTheLaw Yeah.. so why not show it. People that aren't too smart (probably 75 percent of the watchers) will believe that you did this in minutes. Their brains are too small to understand you did several cuts

    I have been a landscaper and groundskeeper for over 25 years. I would never do this. I would call in a professional tree trimmer if the branch has a diameter over 20 cm and over 5 m above ground level. There are too many things that can go wrong. It is not worth the risks.

    A friend of mine and myself made one of these out of a chainsaw blade and a wire and rope one time when there was a limb that he couldn't get out to as a climber and it was too close to a power line to take the whole thing at once.

    How would you flip the blade over

    • @NoIAmTheLaw
      @NoIAmTheLaw 24 дні тому

      You can roll the rope in your hand and it turns the chain enough to get the teeth to flip to the correct side. Once the cut is started, the blade stays in the groove.

    I used this exact method over the weekend to cut down four high branches ... ranging from 4" to 6" in diameter. I worked, but I found it to be a bit risky. I was able to stand somewhat behind the tree to shield myself from the falling branches, but one of them still managed to graze my arm as it came down. Make sure your health insurance is paid up before attempting.
